Lance's Trip to the Hospital

James 5:15
And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.

One time I got really sick, so a trip to the hospital we made.

They drew my blood which kind of hurt, but I was very brave.

I got a little sad because I didn't feel very good.

Mom and dad were always by my side and told me that someday I would.

I had to get an x-ray and I wasn't suppose to move.

But it didn't hurt at all and it all went very smooth.

The x-ray ladies said I did a good job and gave me a toy dinosaur.

I thought that was really cool. I liked to make him roar.

I had to have dialysis almost everyday. That's the part where they wash my blood and take the bad away.

This part wasn't much fun and I didn't want to stay.

But Nurse Cherie was very nice and let me watch cartoons.

My kidneys started to work again and they said I could go home soon!

As I got stronger my daddy took me for stroller rides and we threw pennies in the fountain.

So many I tossed in, I couldn't even count them.

I went to a playroom where all the kids in the hospital could go.

They had games and a big train track and balls that I could throw.

I got to see my little brother almost everyday.

He really liked the balloon I got, so we'd sit on my bed and play.

My grandma got me new slippers which came just in time.

I finally got my strength back and was walking now just fine.

Now I got to push my brother instead of someone pushing me.

We went up and down the halls. I was feeling so happy!

A couple more days at the hospital and I was able to go home.

So my mom thanked the doctors and nurses for the kindness they had shown.

When I got home we prayed that night before I went to sleep.

It felt so nice to be back home tucked tight in my own sheets.

Dad thanked God for healing me and for letting me come back home.

He thanked him for his compassion and said his faith had grown.

Because they took care of me I was able to get better.

I might forget how sick I was but I will be greatful forever.
