Why God?

Your child is sick and you can't understand why.
Your heart and body ache inside and you try to remind yourself on whom you can rely.
But at that point all you feel is pain,
Wishing you could take away their hurt and have something to blame.

Such a tragedy at a young age.
You realize life's meaning as you watch and you pray.
A burden you'd take if it were up to you.
Life's unfair reality of what sickness can do.

You can let it eat you up and make you bitter inside.
Or go to God and let him remind you that this little life will never leave his side.
Angels posted near their bed to guard and keep safe.
Knowing in your heart that this child could never be replaced.

Every child is a special gift sent from up above.
God has promised to take care of and love.
But sometimes we don't understand God's ways,
And become upset if he shortens their days.

But don't be sad, they're still in God's hand.
Singing praises and dancing with Angels and their worship band.
Having fun and playing there,
They got there first but there are many rooms to spare.

Easier said than done, but know this battle has been won.
Pain will fill our earthly days,
But our time in Heaven always stays,
Filled with the presence of God himself,
Everyday is a blessing, remind yourself.
